A notice was recently put out regarding the school’s tax levy increase with what could be some misleading information.

On April 29, 2025 the school budget was presented in public session during the monthly board of education meeting. If you were unable to attend please note:

The school revenue from local tax levy was increased 2%: $35,780

School Budget tax levy for the 2024-2025 school year: $1,789,021

School Budget tax levy for the 2025-2026 school year: $1,824,801

Divided by 697 members over 12 months, a monthly increase of:

$4.28

The reasons that the entire $35,780 is collected over the last 5 months of the calendar year are unclear, but the Winfield Township School receives the increase of $4.28.
